Traditional Chinese Medicine (R.TCM)

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was originated in ancient China and has a history of over two thousand years. Influenced by ancient Chinese philosophy, culture, and science and technology, Chinese medicine uses the theory of Yin and Yang and the theory of Five Elements to explain the mechanism of balancing the function of the body. In Ontario, TCM treatment is a regulated profession and can only be performed by a R.TCMP who is registered with College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario(CTCMPAO).

Traditional Chinese Medicine is an organic therapeutic treatment for a diverse types of medical issues, from infertility to internal organs' malfunctions. It mostly works hand in hand with food selection and dietary habits to optimize the effective result.

When visiting a TCM practitioner and/or acupuncturist, patients should expect the following procedures: after the patient gives consent to treatment, the practitioner will gather information of the patient's medical history, perform assessments and provide a diagnosis and treatment plan.

Typical Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment includes:

1. Acupuncture/Moxibustion,

2. Traditional Chinese Herbal/Formula Prescription,

3. Cupping/Guasha,

4. Tuina,

5. Qigong.
